Fabric Restoration

Expert fabric and furniture restoration

Expert fabric and furniture restoration.

With results you can depend on.

Our fabric and furniture restoration experts are fully certified and use only the latest techniques to lovingly restore your water damaged carpets, draperies and upholstered furniture. You'll see the difference!

On-site restoration is always the most economical approach -- but when this is not possible our AmeriServ Water Damage Restoration experts will carefully inventory, pack and remove all your furnishings to a designated facility for cleaning and restoration. There, the very same procedures as with on-site cleaning and restoration will be meticulously followed.

  • 1. All fabrics are professionally deodorized using state-of-the-art methods suited to the nature and severity of the odor problem. Our most effective method of deodorization utilizes AmeriServ Water Damage Restoration corona discharge ozone generators. Ozone treatment is especially effective against smoke odors and helps destroy mildew resulting from water damage.
  • 2. All fabrics are pre-tested for color fastness, shrinkage, all-around "cleanability"

and any characteristics of the material itself that might affect results.

3.   All stains are effectively spot-treated and then thoroughly cleaned using our exclusive                    AmeriServ Water Damage Restoration fabric cleaning technology.

4.   Warehoused furnishings are carefully kept in storage until delivery is feasible.

WOOD RESTORATION

There is nothing more heartbreaking than the sight of a favorite antique that has been water damaged.  But, surprisingly enough, 90% of damaged wood furnishings can be restored to "better than before" condition as long as the wood has not been severely burned and water has not penetrated the surface.

In fact, wood restoration is the most cost-effective and efficient method of bringing a fine piece of furniture back to life!  In the case of antiques, restoration makes it possible to not only revive the beauty, color and luster of the original finish but the value of the antique as well.

Whether the furniture is to be restored on-site or off-site, the restoration process is the same:

  • 1. Water damaged furniture is first placed in a drying chamber to ensure all moisture is thoroughly removed.
  • 2. The furniture is then carefully cleaned with a specially formulated wood cleaner applied with the finest grade steel wool. This removes all chemical and sewage damage.
  • 3. After cleaning, the furniture is placed in an ozone chamber for deodorization. It will take 24 hours or more to completely extract smoke odor trapped in the wood.
  • 4. Special oils are then applied to fully restore the wood's natural beauty and color. Furniture polishes are used to revive the wood's original gloss and luster.
  • 5. Restored and warehoused furniture is then carefully wrapped in either paper, plastic or cloth for storage until the owner is ready for delivery.

Our AmeriServ Water Damage Restoration  exclusive wood restoration process can also restore the beauty of structural wood such as paneling, molding, stairways and wood trim pieces.
